The UK Student visa is generally for students aged 16 or over who have an offer from a licensed student sponsor, can prove English ability, and can show sufficient funds. Degree-level study can usually allow a stay of up to 5 years, while below-degree study is usually up to 2 years. For English-language courses lasting more than 6 months and up to 11 months, a Short-term study visa may apply instead.
